Great food near our hotel. Check out Baramee for amazing Thai food. Lots of hotel options near the port. I recommend the Crowne Plaza. Not close enough to walk to the cruise terminal for most but well kept, quiet, and close to many food choices.

Considering staying at a Courtyard by Marriott in down town Long Beach. Planning on staying Dec 30 through Jan 2 prior to our cruise. In looking at things to do, we definitely want to see the Queen Marry. I have heard I bypass fees for tours if I just want to eat lunch there. Has anyone done this? I have also read while not right on the beach but for only a short walk to the beach for a fun beach day laying on the beach. Anyone experienced that? I also read something about Pikes market? Can you tell me what else you would recommend? Any other ideas of things we can do that I haven't mentioned We will be traveling another couple.

Earliest disembarking if you can take your own suitcases to the mustering site for early disembarking.

Not much to see unless you travel away from the port. The Iowa battleship is within walking distance. You dock at San Pedro very early and not much is open. We walked around and noticed lots of Thrift Stores. We had lunch at the Green Onion Mexican restaurant. WOW! Excellent! The portions are huge and the prices and good!

We did not do an excursion. It was very difficult to get transportation back to our hotel.

Drove over and stayed the night before at the Residence Inn across Queens Way bridge from downtown Long Beach. Nice hotel, good location. Enjoyed the aquarium before getting in the ship. Park early at the Princess Cruises port.
