Review summary

There's a lot offered on this ship that's sure to keep everyone in the family entertained.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Getting on in Vancouver was quick and easy. I arrived about 2 hours after the embarkation started, so there were no lines.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was generally good and very well presented. My only gripe is that the meat was usually not hot when you received the plate, maybe warm or lukewarm at best at the main dining rooms. The buffet had lots of good options, some of which varied from day to day.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I sailed on the Bliss and this ship has as much if not more things I enjoyed doing. The virtual reality options in the Galaxy Pavillion were much cooler than expected, but not good if you're susceptible to motion sickness. The one disappointment was the hot tubs; they weren't very hot when I wanted to try them, so I ended up skipping them.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I enjoyed both of the theatrical shows. One being a musical and the other more of a cir-du-soli / magic show. The comedy shows are also a must see if you enjoy standup.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff I encountered were generally friendly and welcoming. Some were still learning the ropes, but things seemed to flow fairly smoothly. I recognized at least 2 staff from the Bliss.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
My other experience was sailing on the Bliss, so the design was very familiar to me. As with other big ships the elevators can get quite busy and you'll stand around waiting for a while, it's usually easier to take the stairs.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Comfortable bed. Everything was clean and the WiFi worked well in this room. The walking area between the bed and the wall is pretty narrow.

Ship tip

Make sure you make reservations for the things you want to do as soon as you can.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

5 out of 5
A city that caught my heart years ago. Beautiful mountains, water, and a clean and well organized central area. It's so easy to walk around and explore everything you want. The port is also right by the Sky Train station, so it's easy to get there from the airport.

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

3 out of 5
Nothing exciting here.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Getting off the ship was quick. Went through US customs in Vancouver, so we just had to walk off.

Thanks for the review. Glad to know it compares well to the Bliss. Couple weeks to go for the Joy. 🍺🍹
