The embarkation was horrible, but we did stay in a great hotel with a shuttle & free parking - The Hotel Current. Port parking is $19 per day,

Horrible wait time! 3.5 hours of waiting to get on board the ship, had to wait in the rain!

Make sure you don't accidentally book a hotel near the world cruise center port instead of the port of long beach. I searched for hotels in long beach and found one that said it was next to the world cruise ship center and assumed that was where our ship left from, but there are two different locations for ships toleave from, and carnival leaves out of long beach port.

Were unable to see Los Angeles due to the fact we were stuck on the ship. Knowing we were not going any where, we should have been able to use the time to visit the Queen Mary (Right next to the Carnival Splendor). Would have helped pass the time while waiting. Did not leave on time due to mechanical issues. Spent the first night anchored away from the pier. While sitting there and using our drink package we were charged taxes for everything we had. Ship gave everyone a $50 on board credit. Worthless. We are saying this was in fact the least and we mean the very least.

We flew into LAX, which is a zoo! That's probably the worst airport I've seen! Long Beach is fine. We had several free hours before boarding the ship, so we visited the Battleship USS Iowa, which was quite interesting. If you like history, I'm recommend it.
