From what I could tell Key West was worth visiting and we may return some other time. But, since the ship arrived late we didn't fully get to experience the port

since we were only there for 8 hours, we rented a golf cart to get around very quickly on the island. It was probably the best thing we did! I live in Fort Lauderdale so I've been to Key West probably 50 times and this is the first time I rented a golf cart and will do it every time in the future!! It it gets you off Bourbon Street and allows you to see the rest of the island! It was phenomenal! And really not expensive.

The Rum Barrel has the most amazing steak and cheese spring rolls. These are to die for, they come with a special dipping sauce that complement the flavor. It is not too far from the port.

If you want to have a lunch out of the crowd, just make your way over to Sunset Key cottages and eat at their restaurant. It is not too far away (walking distance from post), make reservation at margaritaville (the weston) or call them. You will take a ferry to the island.

FYI: There is a new resort in Key West, well not new, just changed name. Margaritaville Key West Resort. This used to be the old Weston Hotel. They didn't do any renovations, I guess just changed the name. We Stay at Sunset Key Cottages every year and now we will start to check in there.

Key west is fun, but not enough time to do any excursions since we had to be back on the boat by 1pm. I went snorkeling there years ago and it was awesome. Would have liked to do it again!

Great stop. being an American city, I had no worries about being hassled.

I booked an afternoon snorkeling excursion with Sebago tours and loved it. I saw 2 of the largest sharks I have seen in over 30 years of snorkeling. The sale back with drinks included was relaxing.

My husband ran a roadrace on St. Patty's day here, and then we went to an Irish pub and sang along with the wonderful entertainer who was there, shopped and enjoyed ourselves very much.

We did the Old Town Trolley. It was educational and enjoyable. we got to see the southernmost point, saw a beautiful church, ate a lobster roll and key lime pie and walked Duvall street. A wonderful stop.
