The BEST key lime pie is at Kermit's, along with a ton of samples of everything key lime that they sell. Soooo good! You can buy it by the slice to enjoy while wandering the port, or even take some back onto the ship because they have it in a sealed plastic container for you.

We did not do an excursion because there weren't very many excursion options available through Carnival and they were way overpriced with outside vendors. We did enjoy a leisurely walk around the island.

We did a sailing and snorkeling excursion. Everyone that worked on the catamaran were fun, nice and very safety aware of their passengers. The water and snorkeling was amazing. After our excursion, we walked around Key West and took in the culture.

The stop at Key West was a waste of time. Leave the ship early and return early because if you try to return at least an hour before the ship leaves, the line to get back on the shuttle to get on the ship wrapped around the corner and went on for the equivalent of 3 blocks. Since it's a naval base, you are not allowed to walk on the grounds nor take a taxi. We were on line for around 45 minutes and it was super hot outside!

We purchased the Key West Town Trolley tour through RC for $25 each...got off the cruise ship and could have purchased it for $5 less for each person.....THEN, it was an extremely hot and busy day for the trolley and we were passed up 3 different times as 3 different stops because it was full. Yet, we saw 2-3 empty trolleys just sitting there at the main square. Very frustrating. RC did refund us in full when we complained about not receiving the service we paid for.

Loved the port, however it was really hot at street level. We did the Shipwreck Museum and Aquarium for our tour. It was entertaining and informative. Glad I did it, but we probably won't do again (just because BTDT). If we had known we could have rented a golf cart to tour the island, we would have done that instead. I don't remember the restaurant we ate at, but it was upstairs and the black bean soup was DELICIOUS! We saw a brief glimpse of Duvall Street - we're not drinkers, so we weren't impressed with the crowds or bars. I'm sure it's fun with the right group of people (i.e. not us).
