Review summary

I had fun. I loved the cruise director, Philipe. They have something for everyone. They even had an LGBT get together as well as singles get together. I do not know how it is, I just saw it on their list... The ship had a lot of undesirables, perhaps because the price was cheap. Most lacked consideration or jumped the food line. They also behaved as if it was their last meal on earth. I noticed folks let their kids wander alone "part of the undesirables". This ship is huge, do not let your kid wander. If you can ignore the "undesirable folks" then book this cruise. I wish their was a noise curfew as folks wandered the halls and would talk loudly outside the cabin door at past midnight, again, undesirables. I had to call security at one point. Kids swam in the Jacuzzi. I thought the Jacuzzi was for 18 and over. Carnival should keep on top of that. Otherwise, great cruise and staff.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
My embarkation was great. I purchased faster to the fun and I boarded at 11:30 and was on deck by 12.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Plenty of food. The Lido Restaurant is buffet style and they had plenty. Long lines, though, but that's expected. Some folks were loading up their plates as if they never saw food before. Thankfully there was plenty.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I did not do onboard activities, but I know there were plenty. My daughter did and she enjoyed herself immensely.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The bands were great, as were the 80s and 90s trivia with Cruise director, Philipe. Philipe was wonderful and entertaining. Karaoke was fun watching and I loved the lobby bar. You can see the lobby bar from several decks.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
My daughter enjoyed the teen club. She made friends, enjoyed activities and had a great time overall. She said she needed an extra 3 days.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was friendly and super attentive. Never had an issue.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Old ship, but well kept. I always saw the crew cleaning it. I notice people would leave food all over and throw items on the floor. I even saw someone eat fries in the elevator and put the plate on the floor. However, no matter what folks did, it was handled and the ship was kept clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was clean, but not spacious for 3 people. Best suited for two people. Overall, lots of storage closets, drawers and shelves.

Ship tip

The ship is huge. Keep your kids close and don't let them wonder. Enjoy the sit down dinner. It's better food than the buffet. Download the Carnival Hub app. It let's you know what is going on. Get the chat feature. I did and it helped me keep in touch with my teenager while at sea.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5
I did not do an excursion in Miami but I stayed in Miami before the cruise.

Key West, Florida

3 out of 5
The stop at Key West was a waste of time. Leave the ship early and return early because if you try to return at least an hour before the ship leaves, the line to get back on the shuttle to get on the ship wrapped around the corner and went on for the equivalent of 3 blocks. Since it's a naval base, you are not allowed to walk on the grounds nor take a taxi. We were on line for around 45 minutes and it was super hot outside!

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Beautiful place and beautiful people. The Mexicans are super friendly and helpful. I did the snorkeling and stand up paddle board excursion and the whole experience was wonderful.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
As part of Faster to the Fun, I disembarked without issues and it was quick!

Who are you to determine whether someone is an undesirable? Wow

Crew is not babysitters. You can get undesirables on any cruise. I think I have heard people complain on every cruise line with kids in hot tubs. Go when kids are in school. Parents who don't care what their kids are doing, are on every cruiseline.
