No, we didn't do an excursion, we are from Houston so we know Galveston pretty well.

I have been to Galveston before and loved their beaches and their zoo (especially the penguin exhibit you can pay to go in the back and pet a real penguin.)

Stay a few days and explore the Strand district and troll down Seawall Blvd. Very relaxing, but you will have NO DESIRE to swim in the gulf waters after seeing that beautiful blue seas in the Western Caribbean!

Our trip was for Cozumel, Belize and Mahogany Bay Hounduras. The only drawback was Belize we did not get off the ship there because of warnings of mosquitos and warnings about safety.

Galveston was ok. We shipped out from there so we didn’t do anything else in Galveston.

Oh Galveston ... where the waters are brown, and so are the beaches. I kid, it's Galveston. Be prepared for lackluster, but your level of excitement is so high, just focus on getting on the ship.
