We like Galveston because it is just a few hours from where I live.

Galveston, as a city, was beautiful. Parking seemed easy enough, but the passenger terminal was under construction so we had to embark through the crew terminal. It felt like my first day at basic training. So much standing around in line. It was terrible

We stayed the night before and ate dinner at a nice sea food place right on the water.

We prefer the ports with onsite parking because riding the shuttles can be a hassle. We've used Galveston before and it is fine once you get in the door.

Cute, charming town. There are many hidden gem restaurants off the beaten path. It’s a slow pace with inexpensive food and gas.

We stayed at the Tremont House the night before! VERY VERY NICE!!! They had cruise parking at their sister hotel, Hotel Galvez. We were shuttled back and forth from the cruise port!

We arrived on Thanksgiving and the area around our hotel near the cruise terminal was a ghost town. Besides our hotel restaurant, there was only 1 other restaurant that was open.
