We did a buchart gardens tour through princess cruises. We got on a large bus and drive about an hour to the gardens. The. We had 2 hours to explore on our own. It is easy to navigate and we got to see all but one of the gardens. My personal favorites are the sunken and the rose gardens. There are many amazing photo ops in the Japanese garden and the Italian garden has some amazing gelato. We also saw a tiny jam packed store by the dock. We didn’t buy anything there. We bought a maple syrup on the ship which was delicious

We didn’t do any excursions in Victoria. We went to a South African store to buy some South African goodies because I’m South African and have been staying in the states for about 3 years so was craving some of my home country food. We went to china town afterwards and then just walked around. FYI don’t put your stuff down on the floor or anywhere because there is a lot of homeless because hanging around. If you love ice cream go to chocolats favoris out there ice cream is amazing. If you are cruising on the Joy. You only back on board the ship 9:30pm so you have a long day In Victoria.

Waste of time in our opinion, but due to international laws, we had to make a stop in a foreign port.

We had a long tour through the Buchart Gardens and only saw the city as we drove through it. There were several buildings lit nicely as we drove back to the ship after dark. When we got off the ship, we saw several ladies dressed in Victorian clothes on the dock. The gardens were lovely. Our favorite part was the sunken garden. There was also a live music session going on at the same time which reminded me of the music festivals we have in Austin.

Beautiful port: clean and exciting! This is a must-see for travelers to Alaska We went on a walking tour of Victoria. Our guide, Lauren, was adorable and packed with energy and information! She took us to Beacon Hill Park which was beautiful and so natural. We saw deer, peacocks, blue heron, bunnies, and a raccoon. Then to town to see the Government building.

This was a ridiculous stop! The boat docked at 7 PM. All the friggin shops are closed! If you want to enjoy this port, schedule an excursion or have reservations at a nice restaurant. Otherwise it was a waste of time.

Victoria was beautiful, clean, and fun to visit. We did an excursion though Fresh Tours, and our guide Mark, was very knowledge about the city. We went first to Butchart Gardens, which was beautiful, and on the way back to town, Mark brought us to a look out of the city. It was a great stop to see Victoria. The rest of the day we saw Chinatown, Beacon Park, fed the many peacocks in Beacon park, and did some shopping. We had great food, and watched some paragliders take off besides us at a local beach. We enjoyed the beauty of the city.
