A medical diversion meant that we didn't arrive in port until around 11pm and had about an hour for everyone on the ship to try to squeeze through the gift shop on the pier past the customs office. Can't begrudge the cruise line, but it was still a disappointment.

Victoria is a typical city. It is unique because of all of the flowers and greenery. We did the Hippo Tours which gave us an overview of the city. We went to the Fisherman's Wharf - houses and stores literally on the water. We also fed the harbor seals - 1 fish for $1 or 6 fish for $5 - very cool!!!

Tendering by Zodiac to a "wet landing" was helped by the ship providing waterproof boots. It's a tiny community that doesn't see strangers often, so I think the locals were as curious about us as we were abotu them.

While I was quite sick and couldn't leave my room, the other 8 people in the group did go ashore. We got there at 6:30pm, after most attractions had closed. US Dollars were usually spent since exchanging money there was impossible because of the hour. Kind of a waste of time.
