Area around Norwegian Cruise Dock is great! Seafood dining spots are near. There is a beautiful pier to walk along. You can see the Space Needle & Ferris Wheel. Sailboats and yachts are docked within view.

Big city with lots to do and with big city comes street performers and homeless. Did not feel safe at Pioneer Square train stop (on the street) but University train stop was great (between 2nd & 3rd, and Union & University, downstairs inside Benaroya Hall). Monorail between Pike & Pine on 4th Street Inside the Westlake mall takes you to and from Seattle Center (including Space Needle and Chihuly exhibit). Seattle Art Museum (SAM) is between Aurora (99) and 2nd, Union & University. Pikes Place Market is on Pike by the bay. We stayed at the Days Inn, 9100 Aurora and were able to take the E line bus from there to downtown. Seattle hotels are expensive. Our uber driver recommended staying at a hotel by the airport for less than $100 and taking train into the city. For those over 65 the train and busses are $1 and you can transfer on the bus for two hours. Lots of food choices and shopping opportunities. Clean city for being so big with so many residents and tourists.

DO NOT stay at The Seattle Westin. We booked this hotel through our cruise line and the elevators are broken. We are stuck on the 16th floor with no breakfast and no other way down. They are too “busy” to send anyone through the service elevator to come get us. We booked here so we could spend the day sightseeing and now our day is ruined. It’s 10:45 and we can’t get out and explore. So disappointed!

This port was very unprepared for our arrival. The ship was in town for the day until 9:30p. However, the gate to get to the ship was closed from 5:30p-5:30a. We were stuck in our Uber circling the port trying to find a way in. I called Princess directly to explain our situation. We found a police officer and about seven other Uber/Lyft cars with ship guests stuck in our situation. The officer created a line and we followed him and a dock worker who guided us in a back way. However some of us got stuck at a light and lost the line. Luckily for us, our driver remembered a drop he had previously made of a dock worker and took us to that location. We made it in. I complained to every person that I saw upon entering the terminal about the situation and none seemed to comprehend or care that there was a major issue that needed to be rectified. I again made the complaint to the guest service and they had received word of my phone call to Princess and were working on the issue. Hopefully this is one mistake that won’t happen again.
