I read all the reviews and decided to come up with my own idea of Catalina island. Everyone was right. Not much to do at all. I didn't book an excursion so we just walked around. We drank some margaritas at mi casita Mexican restaurant. Those were super good. And we had a plate of fries. Ha. Those were good too. Went into a couple of souvenir shops. If you wanna do something, maybe book an excursion. I don't really recommend anything. Water is cold this time of year. Good luck.

Just kinda walked around, took pics and ate at the Lobster Trap. Not much to get into, as others have stated, but was worth just getting off the ship. Really enjoyed the views!

Reserve an e-bike online from brown's bikes before you sail and its a little cheaper for all day use. We were able to ride all over Avalon and up the hills with very little effort and didnt have time constraints like with a golf cart. (although those are fun to if you are not a bike person). Loved the botanical garden with the Wrigley memorial. Learned about the importance of conserving the island and its eco system. Also took glass bottom boat tour on last cruise, its a great way to see the fish without getting wet.

Nice place to visit if you like shopping or in my case like to see the views from atop Mt. Ada. Rent yourself a golf cart and tour the island for an hour or two. 4 seat carts available just a few hundred feet from the tender dock or for a 6 seat cart, just another 200 - 300 feet down the road.

I went to Lloyds of Avalon candy store to see where Marilyn Monroe was discovered. The went and had a "wiki wacker" at Luau Larry's and got a straw hat. You get a straw hat or sticker when you buy that delicious drink. Then had nachos and margaritas, went on the glass bottom boat excursion that we purchased straight from dock. You can literally get off tender and swim on beach. Everything is walkable unless you want to go to the botanical gardens or Wrigley home or to see buffalo then you would need a golf cart. Very nice experience.
