Either make your own arrangements ahead of time or take the ships' excursion if planning on seeing the Mari Mari Cultural Village, as they have a limited number of entrance tickets available each day, and they were NOT available for us on an independent tour hiring a taxi driver.

This port was ok but not sure if other excursions available besides the mall. We did venture to the market for souvenirs but wanted more of an experience than mall.

Walkable city with shopping, restaurants, and malls. You don’t need an excursion. Don’t do the excursion that takes you to a zoo. I’ve heard feedback from people that went there and they say the animals look miserable.

This was the only port we had a driver who didn’t speak English or attempt to communicate with us. It was not through the cruise line or Cheap cruises. Still had a good experience overall. Had our guide drop us off for a massage afterwards. 12.00 for an hr massage. Heavenly.

The Traditional Borneo tour was great for someone who wants an overview of the country. Our tour guide was exceptional in his knowledge of the country.
