Took a pre organised trip with a driver for the day. He was excellent and went to Ubud and Sanur. Massage, swimming, shopping. Couldn’t believe though how extremely busy the traffic is now and didn’t get to all places planned as too many cars. Have been to Bali 8 times before (land trips) and it’s certainly no longer the paradise island we first saw in 1983. Big delays with tender back to ship this day due to weather- unfortunately no seats for most people in the terminal making it very hard for some older travelers

Take an organised ship tour as taxi and roads are chaotic and often delays because of the festivals that take place too frequenly. Charged 25 US$ each for visa even if you do not get off the ship

Here we took a private nine hour tour to Bale Kambang floating pavilion and the Kertagosa Royal Court of Justice. We continued on to the ancient Pura Kehen temple complex where we had a guided tour. Later, we visited the walled mountain village of Tenganan. We learn how to weave Kamberi Grinsing the flaming cloth which is said to protect the wearer from evil. On our second day in Benoa, we took a 6-hour tour to the most popular Seminyak temple & Tanah Lot.

Bali is incredibly fascinating. We took the viator excursion ‘Best of UBED and had a wonderful day with Krishna as our driver. He picked us up at the Benoa port and made the trip very interesting.

We had been to Tahiti and French Polynesia two years ago. Bali was interesting, however, not as tropical and beautiful as Tahiti. We would go back to French Polynesia/Tahiti again, however, we would not return to Bali. We have nicer beaches in FL.
