Toured the parliament, ugliest building ever (sorry New Zealand), could not bring myself to buy Starbucks cup with picture of ugly parliament building. My children enjoyed the botanic garden excursion.

Pretty city Shuttle to town and short walk to Te Papa Museum then cable car up & walked back down to shuttle stop

Really enjoyed the excursion round Wellington visiting many interesting places and having some time to ourselves as well. Bus driver John Mahon was amazing, funny and informative.

Great port to get out and look around. The Te Papa museum is a must do. Simply catch the shuttle into the city and walk. It’s an easy walk. The cable car is great as well. We paid $9 each for the return trip,

If you are a movie buff you must visit Weta Studios. We loved the Lord of the Rings props and got photos with Gollum and the trolls too but there are props from many other movies that are worth seeing too. Very easy to find on the hop on hop off bus. The Great War Museum is also the best I have ever seen.
