We had visited this city previously, so on this visit, we took a trip to Hanhdorf township which is a German settlement that dates back to 1839. On our way there, we stopped at a beautiful lookout spot, Mount Lofty, which had beautiful views of the city. The main street of Hanhdorf is lined with many boutiques, cafes and restaurants. A great place to shop and just stroll. We stopped in at a bakery on a side street that sold large German pretzels. We took ours outside and enjoyed them at one of the outside tables & chairs. A few establishments had live German music playing. It is a great place to enjoy a wonderful German lunch. Browse the lovely jewelry, pottery, art & leather goods stores as well as souvenir shops and more.

We booked the McLaren Vale experience for my wife and I in Adelaide. I was told by the guest services staff that I would have to pay for an adult ticket of $189 for my child who is 4 years old. I was not presented with an alternative but I wanted to take my wife on the highly recommended tour. I paid the fee of $189 for my son who is four years old to accompany us on the tour. The tour was great for two adults but NOTHING was offered for kids. So I did not understand why I was told I had to pay an adult fee of $189 for my son during a wine experience. It is not like I received an extra wine glass for tasting during the tour. I feel I was mislead when booking the excursion and was forced to pay for an adult ticket with no consideration of the type of excursion I was booking.

Plenty of taxis available but $70 AUS each way into Adelaide can be expensive. The train is easy and if your a senior with a concession card, it can be free!

I enjoy the city there. Hoping that Port Adelaide would be a best destination for the major cruise industry. After Sydney. It can do several destinations in future.

Didn’t spend long in this port. Went with my family to meet some friends for lunch and a walk around the beach. Have visited Adelaide before. It’s a very pretty city and very walkable. You can take the tram in, it’s a nice ride.

My hubby and I have just completed our 2nd cruise on the sun princess, going the Southern parts of Australia for 13 nights. It was a great trip going but it was totally different coming back. The journey was really rocky coming back past bass straight but apart from that it was amazing.

We disembarked in Adelaide and spent four days here. Lovely city - close to my favorite city in Australia. Love the city, zoo, gardens, trip to Handorf for the day.
