Day 1: Tour to famous beeches; guide took us to ‘black’ market to exchange money! Day 2: Took Tram and subway (65+=free!) and did our own self guided tour throughput historic downtown which we found on internet! WONDERFUL!

Everyone needs to experience the Christ the Redeemer! However, the beach was very unpleasant with venders and beggars constant annoyance.

We had a very late flight home and the ship arranged a day tour for us that ended at the airport. It was most appreciated by all who participated especially since it was just prior to Carnaval and Rio was crowded. For anyone going to Rio, the airport is a disorganized mess. Bring your patience and be prepared to wait in long lines to check in. Even though airline staff were present and lines of passengers were very long, the counter would not open until exactly 5:00pm. Then they didn't want to check in baggage for late flights. After a supervisor was called check in ran smoothly.

If it had not have been for carnival , we would have struggled for more things to do after 3 nights .

Wonderful Rio! We disembarked here and transferred to our hotel for a few nights! Totally fabulous place- don’t miss it, it’s the best!!!
