The second leg of the cruise with a new Captain, Captain Todd McBain, made all the difference in the world. He has to be, without a doubt, one of the best Captains working for any cruise line in the world. If we could go on any cruise in the world with Captain McBain, we would certainly do so. Princess Cruise Lines needs to clone this Captain. While that of course is an unrealistic suggestion, I would suggest that Captain McBain be asked to "train" other Captains, younger and older, to provide a similar experience with guests on all Princess ships. He may not be one of a kind, but he certainly comes close.

Food and Dining
5 out of 5
While all meals varied in appeal just as on any cruise ship, the staff always made the dining experience a pleasant one.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
For a 34-day cruise, there might have been more varied activities for persons of all ages and interests. It seems that much of what is offered is generational and even at the age of 67 I felt that much of the entertainment was for my parent's generation and not mine. Maybe it is a reality of Princess Cruises, but I always feel on the outside of what is offered as entertainment and activities. While it did not affect my overall great experience on the Coral Princess, I chose to ignore much of what was offered.

Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Excellent service from staff in all venues and settings. Our room steward was one of the best we have encountered. The staff certainly made the cruise a most memorable experience.

Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
While we selected an interior cabin for the price provided, the décor of the ship needs to be updated to be more cheerful for a more inviting environment. The lighting and colors could be altered to provide for a more pleasant and welcoming cabin. While not exactly "dark and dingy," improvements in lighting and décor would be a welcome addition.
Good and easy experience overall. However, on-shore staff seemed to give conflicting directions which made it somewhat confusing. Overall, the disembarkation was fine.
