Spent three days here for carnaval. The city was mostly closed - shops, museums, galleries etc. The city was very dirty - a lot of trash everywhere and people sleeping in the streets. Did a three day tour and had tickets for carnaval. Expensive but great.

Two days here allowed us to take a great tour highlighting the architecture of Nierman as well as a tour of this BIG city with trips to its highlights such as the large statue of Jesus and sugar loaf mountain, both heritage sights.

A huge city - very lively. An excursion to the summit of Christ the Redeemer was well worth the visit. Unfortunately the weather was too hot on the second day to do much of anything.

Very good excursion. Informative and covers lot the places of interest. Differently recommended. To bad it's only one day. Need at least 3 days to cover everything.

I have been now, If I never return, it wont be a loss. Not a Fan excursion - Best of Rio and Sugarloaf. Tijuca Rain Forest by 4X4 - Not what you might think, a little walk in a touristy park, saw no wildlife, the jeeps drive very quickly ( they couldn't carry eggs without damaging them ALL)
