This city is known for it's tuna and Panama hat industry. Also lots of beach front resorts. Took excursion deep in land (almost an 1h drive). Beautiful mounts view from bus window. Went to San Lorenzo beach and saw turtle sanctuary. Ecuador uses American dollar as their currency.

I bought an excursion through Manta SOS and loved it. Pacoche forest, the fish market, Ecuadorian hat making, museum and shopping in Monticristi. Great value, great excursion

Don't waste your money on a tour here. Simply take the ship's shuttle to town which lets you off at a market, specifically designed for you. Everything about MANTA IS SOLD RIGHT THERE.

There are some great things to see within walking distance of the port but we secured a cab ride to Montecristi. Bought our fabulous Panama hats (THEY ARE MADE IN ECUADOR and wonderful quality) and enjoyed the 2 hour experience.

In Manta we took a private tour exploring the city as well as the rain forest. We also learned the history of the Panama Hat and had an opportunity to see how they are made.

Another industrial port, did a city tour. Guide did not know anything, did not take us to places we wanted to go. Not a good stop

We did an interesting excursion - nice hike, learned how they make Panama hats and how they use a mule to extract sugar from sugar cane. Panama hats overpriced!!
