Plan to shop for souvenirs here. This is a treasure trove of market stalls filled to overflowing with their hand-sewn and hand- embroidered textiles--tablecloths, place mats, shirts, etc. etc. I bought a $20. flowered bag for myself and two little elephant backpacks 2/$15. for our grandnephews. So cute with the colorful striped fabric. Also bought some turquoise and red coral jewelry, $35. each. The Guatemalans are hospitable and easy to bargain with. They all know a little or a lot of English.

We did the Go With Gus Livingston/Rio Dulce excursion. Priceless memories of the Mayan people living up the river's tributaries and the reality of the off-the-tourist streets in Livingston.

Good cultural excursions. But they are a long bus ride from the cruise port. Worth the long ride. You get to see a lot of the countryside and local shops along the roadways.

It was probably our fav spot! Wonderful people and went to the eco waterfall and had handmade tortillas :) we hired a private car and our driver took us to the most beautiful rain forest and then out to lunch at his favorite restaurant! It was pretty fabulous, it’s what Travel is all about!!
