Can recommend shore excursion to Antigua, very old town a couple of thousand feet above sea level but be prepared for hawkers

Off the beaten path but had a great local tour guide for a trip into modern Mayan area to a post classic Mayan archaeological site.

A beautiful country loved Antiqua! Took Oceanias tour Colonial Antiqua at a glance. Bought some nice jewelry and fresh roasted cashews here don’t go home without the cashews!

We rented a van from the dock to Antigua, a 1-1/2 hour ride. When we got to Antigua the roads were all bumpy (cobblestones). Not much to see in the town square but the people are friendly.
