Poor area, but I encourage you to buy a city tour right on the dock 25 to 35 PP and go and see the area, there is not much to see if you walk out of the area.

My wife and I took the cacao plantation tour. We enjoyed it a lot. There is walking over uneven paths, but nothing my wife couldn't handle with her handicap. They explained the entire process and we could sample cacao beans throughout. They showed how the cacao is turned into chocolate which we got to eat. After the tour, we were given some fruit to eat. There was a stop at a tourist store, but at least there was a good selection of numerous local products.

The sea conditions were such that despite two attempts the ships could not dock safely, so we just left and had an extra sea day.

We took a cab to hike on a rain forrest trail. We stopped for fresh fruit, local beers and rum along the way. Again, we did not have a long time in port, so we weren't able to do as much as I would have liked, but the experiences we di have were awesome!
