We enjoyed the Panama Canal experience, our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. We were only expecting a light snack, a great lunch was served with unlimited water and drinks. Beer was available for purchase which many travelers enjoyed.

Took too long getting in to canal- having to wait on other vessels. Put us way behind schedule. Didn’t get to get off in Town.

We enjoyed going through the locks - this was interesting but wished we could have gone on shore with scooter.

Of course this was the prize of the cruise and was as advertised. I very much enjoyed passing through the 3 locks on the Caribbean side. We then got off in Gatun Lake and took an excursion (via motorcoach) that took us to just outside Panama City on the pacific side. We got to view the locks from the motor coach. The one downer was we stopped at a museum where apparently it was a big day for school children to attend and it was very crowded. Rather than stand in lines we opted to stay outside and walk on a nature trail and take pictures of the lake from an elevated view.

Take the Gatun Locks and Embera Indian Village tour. You take a short bus trip to the Melia Hotel and board a boat for a ride on the Gatun Lake. We saw monkeys. The Embera village was very nice and they had crafts for sale. The Gatun Observation area was right on the locks. Great views of the ships going through the locks. Also great view of the new locks. Very good tour.
