Review summary

overall, our cruise was pleasant... we were pleased enough to put a deposit down on a future cruise with Princess. Hint for all travelers... get travel insurance!!!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
we received our medallions prior to our cruise... & because my husband needed wheel chair assistance for the embarkation... getting onto to the boat was smooth & quick.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was "ok". The Bottecelli dining room experience was not as good as the Da Vinci dining room. Overall, as I say - the food was "ok", not quite as good as I remembered from the last time we cruised. The buffet was metered now due to the Covid restrictions. I actually felt that the food was better up in the buffet rather than the dining room. The waiters didn't pay as much attention to the diners in the buffet... & that we didn't like much. We only ate in 1 specialty restaurant. That was top notch.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We only sat by the pool... but the area was well kept. It was a hoot that they kept the pools open when the seas got a bit rough. The spa was beautiful & staff attentive. We partook in the art auction activities alot & enjoyed them immensely! The Bingo people was great too... very entertaining.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The pianist in the main atrium was good. The violin duo was horrible! We only saw the comedians... the 1st one was a yawner... but, Mark Yaffe was hysterical (well worth it). We didn't hear any of the other performers.

Children's Programs

no children with us

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room steward: Our room steward Bambi was a delight... Waiter: Most of the waiters were good. In the Crooners lounge the waiter Igede was wonderful... attentive & caring. In the Good Spirits lounge - the waiters/bartender were amazing! Guest services: my husband's walking stick broke & they took the time to help fashion a fix for him (bravo!) Medical staff: My husband had a medical issue on the last day of our trip. I usually wouldn't find the need to recommend the medical staff - but the caring & attentiveness of Dr. Fitzgerald was above & beyond!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was clean & so were the common areas Layout of the ship: at first we found it a rat maze... it really wasn't as intuitive a layout as some of the other ships we have traveled on.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Because my husband required a handicap room - Princess upgraded us to a handicap accessible/balcony room (R301)... it was perfect!!! It's the only way to travel now on a cruise.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

4 out of 5
because my husband got sick on the last day of the cruise, we did not do an excursion. We got transferred off the boat via ambulance to the Broward Memorial Hospital. If this ever happens to you... tell the medical staff to go to a difference facility... that hospital was the "hospital from hell!"

Cartagena, Colombia

5 out of 5
We were surprised as to how built up the city was! We took a taxi & he was great. The aviary was really nice... The horse carriage excursion into the old city was a waste of time & money. We felt like we were in a "wagon train" & every time the carriages stopped, we were mobbed by the vendors.

Panama Canal (Cruise Into Canal)

fun experience

Colon, Panama

5 out of 5
We took an excursion (boat tour on Gatun Lake)... the bus tour was interesting - long... but, the boat tour good. The guides need to be more attentive to those that need help getting in & out of the boats.

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

loved it here. The excursion via the canals was cool.

Falmouth, Jamaica

5 out of 5
We were disappointed to find that we couldn't just leave & explore Falmouth on our own. We did hire a taxi driver & he was amazing!!! "Johnny P" Linton is the best!!! look/ask for him when you visit this port.

Disembarkation

because my husband got sick on the last day of the cruise, we did not do an excursion. We got transferred off the boat via ambulance down the lower gangway to the Broward Memorial Hospital. If this ever happens to you... tell the medical staff to go to a difference facility... that hospital was the "hospital from hell!"
