Emerald Princess Oceanview Stateroom OF

Because my husband required a handicap room - Princess upgraded us to a handicap accessible/balcony room (R301)... it was perfect!!! It's the only way to travel now on a cruise.

We paid $1000 more than our travel companions to get an unobstructed view. There were bars on the windows and a dresser and the beds blocked access to our window. The small table blocked our access to the bathroom and I was constantly bumping into it. Our friends beds had no bars to obstruct their views, and their beds were parallel to the window which allowed for a seating area with two chairs next to the window. Their room was supposedly partially blocked views because the lifeboats were above them. Additionally they were way better located 2 floors above us and easy access to the entire ship. We got a room with a window but had to leave the curtain pulled because people were walking outside our window all the time. We could hear staff very loudly walking outside early in the morning. I have never seen a room with a window where people could be outside walking.

Supposed "ocean view" was a window with passengers walking by and a railing then a small peek at the ocean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our steward was never seen but always had our room to perfection. He was there when needed but never intruded, he's a keeper!!!
