Review summary

I booked an "oceanfront" room with obstructed view as I have done on numerous other cruise lines.  When I checked in the "ocean view" was a window overlooking a 12 foot deck where passengers walked by.  You could see some ocean past the people and over the railing but it was awful!!!!  They could not change my room due to capacity.   If I opened the curtains then people could see in the room, therefore kept them closed.  Had I known I would have either purchased a better room or saved money and gotten an inside cabin.  The advertised miniature golf was nothing more than a putting green!!!! They removed the video/game room so there was nowhere for me to play with my boy....I was not expecting a "Disney Cruise" but there was absolutely nothing for me to do with my boy....Although I checked in quite early I did not receive my luggage until we were out at sea.....Princess is awful!!!!

kara15 I completely agree with you. Princess's mission is for you to come back new, rejuvenated and relaxed which is the perfect atmosphere for my family. Carnival is the party ship along with Royal Caribbean. We just got off a 15 day round trip to Hawaii on the Ruby and it was the most enjoyable, relaxing vacation ever. Lastly I have to add an obstructed view means you will not have a clear view out your window. We purchase balconies that way my view is always the ocean.

I'd write to the Managing director of the company outlining how annoyed you are and wait for a response! you must of been livid !

"Had I known I would have either purchased a better room or saved money and gotten an inside cabin.". Sorry, but 7+ cruises and it seems you still don't do your research when booking such as you would booking any vacation. There is LOADS of information online regarding deck plans starting with the cruise line website. Viewing the deck plans when being offered a specific cabin lets you see where and what is around you as well as exactly where the cabin is located. If you would have done this while booking, you would have known what you were getting. We have sailed Princess and we love it above all other lines we have sailed.

I'm sorry that you feel the line is awful. If you would have looked into the line more you would see that Princess isn't all about the activities, but more about relaxing and rejuvenating. If you were looking to partake in more activities onboard, I would suggest sticking to either Royal Caribbean or Carnival ships. Princess for us is the best, but that is because we enjoy basking in the sun with cocktails all week. To each their own!
