Horrible place to drive past to your destination. Dirty and a lot of destruction. Go to Panama City quickly. The government should be embarassed that visitors have to see this.

Toured the Chagres River and also stopped by the Gatun Locks. Both were enjoyable except for the trail walk from the boat drop off point to where the buses were waiting, which was slow and bug infested.

We took the Eco Cruises on Gaton Lake. We got to see howler monkeys and sloths in their natural habitat and then got to see our own ship go through the last lock of the canal. It was great fun to not only go through the lock but to see it up close as our own ship went through. It was a memorable time.

The canal was a wonder of engineering- throughly enjoyed going through locks. Train ride was too long and boring and little to see on Pacific side. Should have stayed on board. The re boarding process was horrible-only one line open, blaring music, overly agressive shop keepers.

We only visited the Flea Market, which was fun, and interesting. The prices were very reasonable.

We did an excursion doing all of the locks. The boat was over booked. The inside of the boat smelled so bad of diesel fuel fumes. They was not enough seating for everyone. The food was horrible.
