The tram into the rainforest was interesting but getting there on the underdeveloped and bumpy Panamanian roads was somewhat trying. Also there is less wildlife (other than vegetation) than you are lead to believe you will see on this tour. If I were to do this again I think I would do the golf or train from Ocean to Ocean. The Port of Colon is only a bit more well developed than Limon, Costa Rica.

We actually didn't get much time in Colon itself. Once we sailed through the first locks, we departed the ship to take a ferry through the other 2 sets of locks. That was a geat trip and very interesting.

Dont get a cab out of port- the train is the way to go- it leaves at 8:30am and it basically takes you the way the cab does without the traffic, tourist traps and it has a bathroom!!

Our excursion returned us to the ship via the city of Colon. The city is pretty run down so if you don’t find observing poverty your thing then you won’t like it. Your only there for a short time so you don’t really have time for anything.

Loved our Aerial Tram and visit to Gamboa Rainforest Resort and to the rainforest. The views were spectacular! Highly recommend this excursion. The shopping here leaves a lot to be desired.

Take an excursion! The city is all torn up as they replace infrastructure and the port shops are not worth the walk off the ship.

Was hoping that the Panama Canal would be the highlite of the trip, but the boats that we went on were over crowded, not well ventilated, and because there were so many people we could not hear the narration. Heard the train trip was much better.
