This port was very busy. However you could see the struggles of the local people

Our HAL shore excursion included the Rain Forest, a boat tour of Gatun Lake and the Agua Clara Locks. Good tour but our tour guide wasn't the best.

Took a Sunset Schooner Cruise. Definitely recommend it. Took a trip the next day. Also recommend it. Went to the Panama Canal, cruised on Gatlin Lake looking for howler monkeys and sloths, stopped at an Embera village and learned about the people, saw them dance and looked at their beautiful handcrafted items for sale.

Our excursion was canceled because there weren't enough people for the train to the Pacific. We were offered, again, a non-accessible, non-vacinnated excursion - a ferry through the canal taking 8 hours total. We declined. We went into the terminal where there is a fairly new duty free shop. Not a lot besides liquor. We thought we might walk over to the casino but there was construction outside the terminal and some shady characters hanging about. It didn't look safe to walk out so we got back on the ship.

Only had an hour in this port since ship had to make unplanned stop in Aruba on way to canal due to medical emergency of a guest which delayed canal and Colon. unimpressed by port area.

Not much here, no excursions. Lots of neglected crumbling building and poverty. It’s a city going through urban renewal, but it will take years. If they follow through, it has the potential to be a nice place to visit.
