We were warned not to go into town due to the danger of being robbed. A taxi driver did get shot while we were there.

We were stopped by the police while walking in town about one mile from the port. It was considered too dangeurous for us to walk there and they forced us to take a cab back to the ship. The ship should not go to this port anymore.

We did not do a ship excursion. We did hire a taxi to go to the free zone in Colon. We would never do that again.
