Had a great tour in Cartagena with Dora the Explorer. She is wonderful and very good guide. Small group and very comfortable bus. Lots of walking. We were told a head of time of the street venders. Very pushy but we didn't let that get in the way of our trip We would highly recommend Dora. Four hours $65 pp cash at end of trip. Well worth it

Did a city tour which felt more like a forced march - not adequate time in any one place and we got forced into a couple of shops that were way too small for the size of our group. Street vendors are pretty persistent (although they back off when you say no).

This is a big NO! We took the carriage ride and were SWARMED by people trying to sell stuff to the point they jumped on the carriage and the excursion people ignored them. They would even touch you and try to get you to buy things, would not leave you alone. a nightmare

You can skip a tour here. Just grab a cabbie to "old town" which is completely walkable with many shops and cafes.
