Cruise was good, but not our best one. Boat was in need of printing, particularly on our balcony .

Island Princess

Ship: Island Princess

Cabin type: Balcony

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

We would not choose the Island Princess again. Didn’t seem to be kept up well. Previously, we’d decided that Princess was our favorite cruise line, but this cruise didn’t seem to be up to the other ones.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room steward was forgetful and inattentive. All other staff were exceptional!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Very clean. Older ship in need of paint. Our balcony showed many rust spots. Not up to Princess standards to us.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Room and shower too small. Room was kept clean and bed was very comfortable. However, our room steward was forgetful: completely missing our room one morning and didn’t take old towels and bring new ones another day. We had to call Housekeeping about it.

Ship tip

Very small shower and smaller room than other Princess ships.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida Did not visit port

We live in Florida.

George Town, Grand Cayman

4 out of 5
Bike tour not worth the money. Difficult riding on roads di to traffic.

Cartagena, Colombia

4 out of 5
Walking tour and hop on/hop off bus. Old Town walking tour was very nice.

Panama Canal (Cruise Into Canal)

4 out of 5
Interesting seeing the ship transit the canal. Would not repeat the experience.

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica Did not visit port

Coffee plantation tour Bus ride to snd from too long for what we saw. Would’ve enjoyed touring a plantation more than touring the plant.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

4 out of 5
Tubing tour was the best of the three tubing experiences we’ve had over the years.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy, peasy
