Belize City, Belize. Ships tender about 5 miles out - plan 30 minutes to get to/from shore. The bar right by the pier (second floor) offers free internet service; just buy a $2 can of soft drink. It's also a great place to watch the line for the tenders, and choose your time to get in line. The best prices on prescription pharmaceuticals was in Belize. Cozumel was twice the price.

didn't have high expectations for this port.. and really if you don't do an excursion, it wouldn't be good. we booked a shark ray alley, Hol Chan snorkeling tour through shore excursioners. we had Leon from splash wave tours as our guide, and it was awesome. saw many different species of fish, sharks, and rays.. coral reef was beautiful.

We really enjoyed our time at Goffs Caye! Unbelievably beautiful crystal clear water! The snorkeling guides were great & took time to show us various ocean life then once back on the island, rum punch!

Tendered Port. Beautiful area, but once out of town, you are in no-man's land. We chose to do an RC excursion vs. directly booking with a local company. RC uses local companies (we had Chukka) which is good. We had a driver who was great which is important. We did the cave tour which was beautiful. We did have to carry our own tubes which wasn't bad as the walk to the caves was fairly short. We were late getting out of port because of passengers getting delayed coming back from an excursion. I mention this only because the only reason we waited was because it was an excursion booked through RC. Had it been a direct book, the ship absolutely would not have waited for them and they would have had to figure out how to catch back up with the ship. Not something I want to try and figure out in a country where I do not know the language.

No offense meant here. But unless doing an excursion, better to just enjoy the ship. The port area is essentially a flea market. The surrounding neighborhood does not appear safe for exploring.
