We did not book an excursion but wish we had. There was nothing to do if you didn't have an excursion. You really could not leave the shops that were right off the ship because of the safety issues.

The lamanai ruins was over priced and over rated. 1 hour van ride 1 hour boat ride- very expensive and not that impressive. Go snorkeling.

We took the carriage ride in Belize City and while it was interesting to see that, I would have like to see more of the newer side of Belize.

Don't bother walking into town. Nothing there. NCL is building their own port nearby.
