Excursion not necessary. Wast of money - especially with a useless tourguide. Best recommended to do it on your own.

Celebrity had to move our tender to Villefranche right before cruise so did not see Monte Carlo even though it wasnt far, very hectic with yacth show in town, went to Nice and Eze on our own by train, Nice waterfront and flower market good and at Eze was really beautiful garden, view and lunch at top but you have to get bus up to top from train, and trains all full on way back had to share very expensive cab back, maybe stick with organized tour even if its less freedom.

The highlight & reason we booked the cruise: the ship was moored in the Bay of Monaco for the entire Formula 1 weekend fir which we had tickets & thoroughly enjoyed the racing as well as the amazing atmosphere.

A beautiful place, with great sight seeing and people watching from Cafe Paris, casino Square. Monaco was special to visit cathedral and Palace. Streets are spotless.
