Excellent tour with Mr. Hoa (Sam) We loved talking with him and he was the best tour guide on this cruise along with the best shore excursion to Hai Phong. I would highly recommend this shore excursion!

If you go to Hanoi, be prepared for 4hours of bus each way complete with a lecture heavy on guilt.

Kayak excursion on the Bay was fun, and good way to see the bay. Morning visit to HaLong city ok but really not much to see other than experiencing local culture. Hanoi was too far for us to go and return on bus in one day to just see a large city.

Sailing into and out of this port is worth the high rating alone. Best scenery you could imagine. A very active town with lots to see.

A good 2 night stop. Organised own market visit and own junk boat to bay and caves which were much cheaper than organised excursions and easy to organise
