The beach was clean and beautiful. It was very long so if you wanted privacy you could get away from other people. I felt safe in Progreso. The locals also offered messages on the beach, very relaxing but don't expect what a message therapist would give you.

Very disappointed with this port, personally will never return. First impression of a military ship at port, and as we get off there are couple military men with dogs walking around. Didn’t feel safe. Visited the port, the markets people were very pushy and rude. Got suckered into spending to much on some cheap jewelry because they won’t accept no, just paid for to get away. After this experience we returned to the ship, didn’t bother going to taking the 4 mile trip to town. WIll NEVER book this stop again!

went to the town market and took a tour "on our own" for 12 dollars! Saw the Mayan ruins, where they make salt and went to a house and pool on the beach were we were served drinks...lots of fun!
