The locals there was very aggressive in trying to get you to buy from their table they were even bold to come in the restaurant to try and sell jewelry and DVDs.

Avoid the town and beach. Visit the port shopping area and/or stay on the boat

Did a beach excursion. Took a bus to the site. The tour guide Alejandro was great.

make sure you book your tours early. and that you are out of the ship early enough

We only wandered the port---No other excursion taken. The excursion choices were limited and the ones available seems a bit "off the beaten path"--made me nervous to go on my own with 2 teenagers.

Don't even bother getting off the boat. It is a dirty town full of dirty people just waiting to take your money.
