This was not a bad experience for us, but Progreso isn't one of the more scenic locations in Mexico. We opted for a trip to the beach, which was good, but Cozumel was just way more fun than here.

The Mayan ruins of chincheitzu is a must see. I'ts cheaper to rent a car if you know you way around or get a taxi instead of buying the package from the cruiseline.

Not a place I would visit for an extended vacation, but the local flavor was interesting, and this is the place to shop for local souvenirs, as the prices are more negotiable. The beach was disgusting because a storm had blown seaweed up onto the sand and in the water. Weather was beautiful.

The port in Progreso was by far the best of the four ports. The shopping right off the ship is extremely reasonable and the store owners weren't pushy like at other ports.

We went in just to the ports little shops. The mainland was a little too far so we stayed local. The locals of course were a little too pushy with wanting your business.
