Walked to old town. We followed a painted blue line from the ship terminal to old town. Their were also lots of American tourist volunteers wearing blues shirts.

This is not a city I would recommend visiting. Second trip and still dislike. We did the Hop On - Hop Off and the tour was terrible. Our driver got into an accident which delayed us twice. Getting to the downtown area and again when leaving when the driver involved and police were waiting for us. The presence of the armed police made us feel safe but the people are not friendly and being rude.

Walked from the port (follow the blue line) to the central square area, the market and the beach/promenade. Watched the cliff divers.

This town gets a bad rap but we loved it! We took an open taxi ride all over town and stopped at all the photo op stops on the Malecon. Our driver was so nice and it was very exciting!

We weren’t sure what to expect knowing that Mazalatan is a fishing town. We got off the boat and hired a open air taxi (glorified golf cart with engine) and our driver was amazing! Showed us all around. Took us up on a hill for fantastic views. Drove past mansions. Had amazing fish and prawns for lunch on the water. All in all it was great! I highly recommend to hire a driver and let him/her take you to all the cool sites.

Absolutely our favorite stop, we talked a tour guide into being our personal guide for the day, he took us to all the secret spots, his favorite restaurant and to finish it off a resort where we could use the facility and beach for free!!!

My wife and I had a good time at this port and were able to get quite a few gifts for family and friends. When buying gifts, the first price you hear is typically WAY over what it’s worth. Don’t be afraid to negotiate with them. We took a cab around town to see the Gold Coast and went to lunch at place right on the water which was wonderful. Our 2nd favorite port of the 3 we stopped at on this cruise.
