This port stop was a revelation. The city is wonderful, spotlessly clean and not a “tourist trap” destination. We did another bus trip, we had time to do a bit on our own at this stop. Tour guide was helpful with personally showing us where we could get great coffee. There was a bit of the typical tourist shopping stops here, but not on the annoying level.

Booked Huatulco by Land and Sea through HAL. Sea part of the tour was great, got on a smaller boat and were taken to see bays and beaches while we were given endless beer, margaritas and water. It would have been nice to stop at a beach, but that is another tour... we all had a great time however. The bus portion was just OK and we could probably have done without that. We did get to see a very ornate and interesting church but the rest of the ride felt like a sales pitch for the various hotels. The town itself in very cute and next time would would probably not book a tour, just walk the town and hit the beach, which is right at the end of the pier we docked at.

Another brief shining moment of this cruise- beach was lovely, we did some jetskiing and just enjoyed the many bars on the beach.

We went on the sail and swim. This was the most awesome tour because we swam at a deserted beach area. Even if you are not that great of a swimmer, take this tour. They anchor in real close to the shore and you can wear your life jacket to the beach. I'm a chicken and I did this and loved it! On the way back we saw 20 or more whales. It was fantastic!
