Go to Playa Del Carmen. The shops were incredible, with the best prices on all the goodies. The Margarita's were fabulous and make sure you do not miss going to the beach too! The water was so beautiful and the sand was like powder, it was so soft!

We really enjoyed our Shore Excursion - Caverns and Underground Snorkel. The guide was excellent and we were pleasantly surprised with the experience.

The port is not as nice as the one at Cozumel, but once we got to the excurtion we had reserved, we were really impressed. We went to Xcerat. It was a park with all kinds of amazing animals, the beach, dolphins, caves to swim and explore in. The restaurants were extremely expensive here though. I suggest you eat a really good meal before you leave the ship.

we docked at a gravel quarry! ok, ok it's mexico...i get it. we had planned an excursion to xcaret from the ship and where soooo excited, but the night before, the ship cancelled it. not being detoured, i inquiried if we could take a taxi there...the ship's response was no, beacause the park was closed! I had been to this park before and know for a fact that they dont close...went outside and took a taxi to xcaret and enjoyed the park. i was quite put out that the ship had told us that, if we had taken their word...we would have missed this beautiful park. i assume that xcaret isn't giving the cruiseline a big enough or any 'cuts', because the cruise really didnt advertise it....WHAT A WASTE! other than the park....there is NOTHING IN CALICA>

Amazing. Transportation clean, air conditioned and prompt. Took us to the best area for shopping, drove us around the sites and informed us of bad areas to go in. Shopping was amazing, so many options, people friendly and helpful. Beach was beautiful and you didn't have to pay, They give you a table and chair, take pics for you and seranade you. Cocktails and Beer very good prices.

The port needs a lot of work.

The best shopping area is 2 blocks off the main street and runs for a few blocks. Many interesting shops.

Not recommended because the ship only docks at Calica. You have to take a taxi 10 miles into town where the shops are average at best and most not air conditioned. The people did not really bargin with you either. Their prices were high.

If you share a cab with another couple, works out to 10$ and we went into the town. We got to spend time at the beach and also do some local shopping.
