A great first cruise

The Fascination was a great first time cruise experience and we didnt find a moment to spare between the daytime shore trips and the activities on the ship. We enjoyed the comedy acts, especially Jerry Goodspeed's ventriloquism, which had us in splits. The music and dance shows were not bad, the dancers were better than the singers. There were some fun games to play, through which we made some friends also( the gifts were a little lame though). We had a nice time in the nightclub and the casino. At both the ports of call, we didnt take the expensive shore excursions, just found a map and explored them ourselves. Had a good time at Ripley's in Key West and the beach in Calica, Mexico. We really liked our stateroom and I won a free facial at the spa, which was cool. Only thing I didnt enjoy that much was the food. Also most of the guests were much older than us. Always carry the Carnival Capers-the ship's newsletter with you to keep track of the activities. Overall a great vacation!

Pros: A lot of fun activities and shows to choose from

Cons: The food was average and lacked variety

Calica, Mexico
If you share a cab with another couple, works out to 10$ and we went into the town. We got to spend time at the beach and also do some local shopping.
Don't Miss: The beach and local shopping

Just pick up a map and explore. I thought the shore excursions were exorbitantly priced for activities which we could do ourselves.
Don't Miss: We liked the Ripley's Beieve It or not museum. There are nice little shops for souveneirs
