Kauai is other worldly. Port location is great. Lots to do close and far. And the afternoon cruise around the island when you leave is amazing. Makes you want to do it again. (I guess that's why they do this last instead of Hilo). A warning though, don't walk the streets at night.

We did the Waimea Canyon Fern Grotto tour and the helicopter ride. I would recommend one or both of them. We did the helicopter the day after we did the Waimea Canyon tour. We thought it was awesome. We basically got to get a birds eye view of alot of what we saw the day before. What a beautiful sight!

The best ice cream is Lappert's Ice Cream. There's several places- near Hanapepe, at the Princeville Shopping Center, and Poipu Beach. We absolutely loved the zipline adventure! Thrilling 1 1/2 hours!

We enjoyed the kayak trip to Jungle Falls. We also attended the Luau (ship excursion). The food was limited: potato salad, mac salad, overcooked terriaki beef, etc... The show was very good. I don't think the price was justified especially charging anyone over the age of 12 full price.
