Maui is my favorite of all. For thrill seekers, rent a car and drive the Hana Highway. The view is amazing and the drive is both adrenaline pumped and life threatening. Bad combination but was totally worth it. Makena beach is gorgeous. Powdery white sand and crystal clear water. Sea turtles and snorkelling open to the public. The Snorkel Adventure excursion would have been cool if it wasnt so windy and unable to go to the crater. Check the forecast before booking it.

Getting on and off the ship took way too long. We barely made it to our excursions. Not enough tenders. Lost a lot of time

the luau was very overpriced for what we got. We do not believe this was much like a true "native" luau.

Wonders of Haleakala. Waste of time. Bus broke down, held us up for 2&1/2 hours, then security so bad at port dock had to wait another 2&1/2 hours to tender back to ship. Did not give us opportunity to walk through pretty township. No one cared to admit fault of bus, security, ship and more than a few missed their main dining, badly handled by all in charge.

made it all the way on the Road to Hana. If your vehicle can take it (several miles are unpaved, and the paved aren't in the best shape), continuing through Hana and around the island back to Lahaina provides a completely different landscape but just as breathtaking views of the ocean. We were able to make it all the way around and make it back in time
