Beautiful city and was happy with the hotel we continued our stay. Wished we could've stayed longer. Was not happy with the disembarkment of the ship. Hard to get into town with a long walk, then catching a water taxi that was affordable. Luckily, we paid a guy to carry our luggage over the bridge and to our hotel!

We have been to Venice many times in the last 20 years. We were disappointed this time as it has gotten extremely crowded. You have to get off on the small side streets to get out of the crowds.

The Doge palace and San Marco square is a must but after that it was nice to walk away form the crowded tourist area , over the Rialto Bridge and explore the quieter and less expensive streets of San Croce and San Paolo. The gellato is always a must!

You will want to spend a day in venice prior or after cruise. Easy boat/taxis from ship port to St Mark's square.
