Do not go into Naples, dirty, ugly and a Mafia trap to catch unwary tourists

See Pompeii. If you have time, definitely make a point to see the ruins of Herculaneum, a better preserved city that was "frozen in time" by the same eruption of Mt. Vesuvius that destroyed Pompeii.

We did enjoy this excursion. Pompei was facinating. Lunch at the farmhouse was enjoyable.

We took the Amalfi coast and Pompeii tour -- Fantastic! Tried to check out the castle in Naples you see when you dock -- not worth the effort of dodging traffic to get there.

Beautiful and very busy city. We walked around on our own and went to the National Archeological Museum to see the artifacts from Pompeii and Herculaneum.
