Too much to see and do in a day with Pompeii, Herculaneum, the Amalfi Coast etc. all nearby but a short trip whets the appetite for more.

Since our port arrival was changed, we did not go to Pompei or the Amalfi Coast. Had to settle for a 3 hour tour of Naples. It was OK; hard to enjoy because of the cancellation of our original tour.

Just finished the cruise- 4 adults and two 7yo. This stop was our favorite of the trip. We did Capri, Sorrento, and Pompeii. It left early which was a bit tough- 7am and we didn't get back to the boat until 5:40p! Pompeii was the best- the guide was tremendous and made the experience so much more than doing Pompeii on your own. We had Vincenzio, who appears to be very experienced and knew everybody. So I don't know if other guides are as good or not. First stop is Capri by boat. The fast ferry/boat ride is and hour and a bit rough. Multiple people vomited. I don't know of it's always like that, but do be warned. Capri was beautiful. You don't have a lot of time, but the guide is good and getting you up the funicular and letting you enjoy the town on your own after a short walking tour. Sorrento- a shorter boat ride on a nicer boat and not one got sick- nothing like the first boat ride. Sorrento was a quick stop for lunch and not much time for anything else. The lunch was provided and about as quick as you could make it for a group of 40 ish people. The food was good. Not much time in Sorrnto, but some nice views. Pompeii- a one hour bus ride to Pompeii. This was the least bothersome of all the bus rides. Beautiful scenery and moderate traffic. Pompeii tour was fantastic and better than I expected. I love history and the tour guide did a great job with explaining daily life prior to the volcanic eruption and what we were looking at in he city ruins. Pointing out many things easily missed. 1/2 hour bus ride back to the ship, not bad, but the scenery wasn't as nice once you enter Naples *lots of good gift shopping here with Lemoncelo and perfumes to take home!

Our favourite. We did an excursion to sorrento, positano and Amalfi. With a meal on a cliff side restraint with awesome views

Well we didn’t actually see Naples at all! We took the best tour over to the island of Capri. OMG it is beautiful! It was an all day tour, boat fairy, bus rides, blue grotto, shopping, and free time. I even had sandals made while I went up the chair lift to the top of the island. Trying to remember the name of the company. It wasn’t cheap but it was totally worth it.
