Hired a horse and carriage to take us to the walking market, we set up that we pay $40E for the ride, the driver kept showing us sites and I kept telling him to take us to the market. When he finally dropped us off at the market he want $80E, I finally paid him 60 and walked away. We did a bit of shopping and walked back to the ship

Loved Palermo. My mother's family was close by in another small village, so we went there for the day. Great city with lots of interesting history.

The hop on/hop off tour here is an inexpensive alternative to a shore excursion.

Delicious city. Eat something with eggplant and tomato and drink espresso. You can do this on foot. Keep walking when the pedestrian light turns amber, it stays amber for 10 seconds. Don't worry, just walk fast. Most tourists survive Palermo :-)
